TeleCalm®, the leading phone service provider for seniors and caregivers living with dementia, has won a $100,000 prize given to startups positioned to grow and provide positive social impact.

The company won one of five Diamond Awards from MassChallenge Texas in Austin’s 2019 accelerator program. Nearly 700 applicants entered.

In an announcement, teleCalm said it would use the cash to raise awareness about and accelerate the growth of its dementia-focused phone service, which helps seniors at home or in long-term care settings to safely connect with family and friends. With teleCalm, caregivers personalize phone service features according to individual disease progression. It is intended to protect against elder fraud and stop phone-related stress.

“teleCalm’s phone service solves telephone problems increasingly faced by caregivers and seniors with dementia,” says CEO and co-founder Tavis Schriefer. “Customers tell us that teleCalm provides life-changing benefits as challenges of dementia surface and progress.”
