Over the course of a decade using WoundRounds, Burgess Square Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Westmont, IL, has seen enormous value, its chief executive officer says.
“It has bedside documentation, assessment, prevention of future wounds and excellent oversight of current wounds,” says CEO John Vrba. “There are tools within WoundRounds that show you how much a wound is improving or if it’s getting worse.”
The center now has an acquired-wound rate under 2.5%. Vrba says it’s helped staff understand outcomes.
“With our CNAs, it shows them how important they are,” he explains. “It helps reduce liability. On the revenue side, it helps you fill your beds. It’s a marketing tool.”
WoundRounds is integrated with PointClickCare, which also adds to the value, Vrba feels. Ultimately, WoundRounds “pays for itself,” he says.
