Nursing home executive directors now make an average of $171,008 annually, an increase just over 2% from last year, a new report shows.

All but six salary and hourly positions saw a salary bump between 2014 and 2015, according to the “Nursing Home Salary & Benefits Report 2015-2016.” The report is published by the Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service, with an endorsement from LeadingAge.

Nursing home administrators clocked in at an average $119,197 annual salary, close to a 2.5% increase from last year, according to the report. Assistant administrators saw a 1.68% salary increase, and now make on average $96,380.

Directors of nursing, who design care delivery systems and direct resident care services throughout a facility, are now at an average of $93,290, an increase of close to 1.5%. Assistant directors of nursing saw a more significant boost, making an average of $69,003.

Nursing supervisors, who directly oversee residents’ clinical care, saw the largest boost in salary among nursing home employees this year with a 3.24% increase. That brings the average salary for nursing supervisors to $66,109.

The report’s authors found salaries for certified nurse assistants continue to increase. CNAs in for-profit facilities now make $11.84 an hour, while those in non-profit facilities make $11.89. That is a roughly 1.96% increase for both.
