The National Network of Career Nursing Assistants has kicked off its 34th annual National Nursing Assistants Week to honor professionals who “provide care to ill, elderly and long-term care residents.” The gala began yesterday with National Career Nursing Assistants Day, with the big “week” extending through next Thursday with the theme of “New Roles, New Goals.” Certified nursing assistants are estimated to provide up to 95% of direct care in many long-term care settings. The National Network of Career Nursing Assistants is a nonprofit, professional association for nursing assistants and other direct-care workers in nursing homes, home care, and other long-term care settings.
