Larry Minnix, president and CEO of the American Association of Home and Services for the Aging, was recently named one of The Non Profit Times’ top 50 most influential nonprofit executives.

“Minnix clearly knows the science and the art of understanding and responding to basic human needs and he’s been an effective communicator when it comes to leading the troops on long-term care and aging,” according to The Non Profit Times. This marks Minnix’s second time on the list. He was also recognized in 2008. Other nonprofit executives honored include: Bill Gates, of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Sharon Burns, of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; and A. Barry Rand, of AARP.

This is the 12th year for “The NPT Power & Influence Top 50” list. Candidates are selected by the editorial staff, contributing editors and former honorees. AAHSA’s 5,700 member organizations comprise adult day services, home health, community services, senior housing, assisted living residences, continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes.
