Bedbugs are small, reddish brown creatures. In addition to beds, these smaller-scale vampires can live in picture frames, doormats or almost any crevice they can crawl into. And by all accounts, their numbers are on the rise again. The Department of Entomology at the University of Kentucky determined that nursing homes account for about 18% of all bedbug infestations

Bedbug infestations may be rising again

Bedbug infestations are getting worse in nursing homes and other settings, according to a recent survey by the National Pest Management Association and the University of Kentucky. The survey also found that some customers who attempt to get rid of the pest themselves often engage in dangerous practices, including using flammable products such as kerosene, alcohol, gasoline or diesel fuel. The findings were based on a survey of more than 400 pest control companies or professionals across the country.
