White House budget could include surprises Monday
Long-term care providers will be among the Americans especially interested Monday to learn what President Obama will include in his 2016 budget proposal. The spending plan is expected to call for a full reverse of sequestration cuts, which began to go into effect two years ago and, among other things, cut Medicare spending by 2%.
Obama also is expected to call for improvements to health and infrastructure programs, which would be paid for by the elimination of tax loopholes and “inefficient” spending programs, officials said.
Republican lawmakers already have called Obama's budget proposal dead in the water but policy analysts say that an administration's budget proposal still provides a solid platform to base future negotiations on.
