Senate Aging committee holding 'D' big hearing Wednesday
The Senate Special Committee on Aging will hold a hearing at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Washington to explore the impact of the first decade of the Medicare Part D program. “10 Years Later: A Look at the Medicare Prescription Drug Program” will be held in the Dirksen Senate Building. The committee is expected to post a witness list in the coming days. Seniors 65 and older use about three-fourths of Part D prescriptions, with the rest being used by disabled individuals.
Part D programs are like Medicare Advantage plans, in that they are offered through private insurers, which market varied coverages and plans. To check for updates on the hearing, including submitted testimony, click here.
