Long-term care providers will learn how to better collaborate with hospice staff and colleagues in a hospice setting during a special webcast on Thursday. Alva S. Baker III, M.D., CMD, and Jeffrey Burl, M.D., CMD, will present “The Ins and Outs of Hospice in the Nursing Home” from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
At the conclusion, webinar attendees will be able to:
- Define the ability of nursing home residents to access end-of-life care from a Medicare-certified hospice
- Describe the role of the nursing home when a resident elects the Medicare hospice benefit
- Describe the role of Hospice in care planning and care provision to the hospice-enrolled nursing home resident
- Delineate the roles of the medical directors (nursing home and hospice) in ensuring the adequacy of end-of-life care for the hospice-enrolled nursing home resident
