Nurses prepare for 'their' annual day, week
Preparations are in full gear for nurses around the country to raise awareness of their vital role in the nation's healthcare efforts. National Nurses Week begins Friday May 6 with National Nurses Day and ends May 12, which is Florence Nightingale's birthdate.
A highlight of the week will be the free webinar, “Culturally Congruent Care: Why Diversity Makes a Difference,” at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on May 10. Marilyn (Marty) Douglas, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, an associate clinical professor in the School of Nursing at the University of California-San Francisco, will lead the hour-long session.
