Long-term care owners and operators will be taking their case in person to Capitol Hill next week. The annual Congressional Briefing of the American Health Care Association takes place Wednesday and Thursday in Washington. Each year, providers make dozens of visits to lawmakers and key congressional staffers to discuss key issues. Medicaid and Medicare funding undoubtedly will take center stage, given the threats of cuts that have been floated by top officials in recent days.

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), a surgeon and member of the influential House Ways and Means Committee, and Rep. James Renacci (R-OH), a first-term congressman, will be the featured speakers. A reception will take place Wednesday night and orientation sessions Thursday morning at L’Enfant Plaza Hotel before most attendees head to Capitol Hill visits.
