Sensium Vitals

SensiumVitals has created a wireless early warning system that monitors heart rate, respiration rate and axillary temperature every two minutes, and sends an alert to nurses when needed. The information is transmitted through a disposable, single-use wearable patch.

The patch is in trials at St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, both in England.

The patch is an FDA-cleared, lightweight, energy-efficient, battery-powered device that uses a proprietary digital radio chip to monitor a patient’s’ vital signs, the company said. It can be attached to a patient’s chest.
