Senators could get another crack at voting to increase the minimum wage.
Business groups and other factions have been pushing for another vote on the so-called “trifecta” bill. The bill combines a minimum-wage hike with an estate-tax cut and other popular tax-credit extensions.
Early last month, the bill to raise the minimum wage fell short by three votes. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) told senators before the August vote that the minimum wage issue would not receive another chance. But a Frist spokeswoman confirmed that he is considering calling up the trifecta bill again sometime this month.
