Josh Seidman

Avalere Health has appointed Joshua Seidman, Ph.D., to lead its new Center for Health Delivery & Payment Innovation.

Seidman was most recently a consultant to the Brookings Institution’s ACO Learning Network. Before that, he oversaw quality and performance improvement at Evolent Health. He also was previously a Director of Meaningful Use for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, where he was responsible for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT’s policy development around the meaningful use of electronic health records and e-quality measures. 

For eight years, Seidman was the president of the Center for Information Therapy, which he founded. He also has worked at NCQA, the American College of Cardiology and the Advisory Board Company. 

Seidman earned his doctorate in health services research and an MHS in health policy & management from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He completed his bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University. 

His volunteer activities include serving for five years as the president of Micah House, a transition house for homeless women in recovery from substance abuse. Seidman recently completed his 40th marathon, and has four children. He lives in Washington, D.C.
