A long-term care facility administrator can expect to earn an average annual salary of $77,300, though average pay can be as much as $110,000 per year, depending on the size and location of the facility, new survey results indicate.

The new salary data is the result of a national wage survey of senior care facilities conducted by Scottsdale, AZ-based WageWatch, Inc., an online compensation and benefits survey company.

Other national average salaries at long-term care facilities include $50,100 for registered nurses and $38,500 for licensed practical nurses. CNA pay averages $21,500 annually nationwide, with higher averages in the Northeast and Mountain states and lower averages in the Southeast and Central regions.

The survey includes 2005 wage data from 90,000 professional and support employees from more than 1,500 senior care facilities, including skilled nursing assisted living, Alzheimer’s care and continuing care independent living.
