An independent living resident became angry at staff and set the skilled nursing wing of her facility on fire, according to Illinois State Police.

No residents at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra were hurt, but one employee underwent treatment for smoke inhalation, the St. Louis Dispatch reported. The fire damaged more than a dozen rooms, officials said.

Linda J. Braun, 67, called police Wednesday evening to confess and was charged with aggravated arson. She was being held Friday in lieu of $250,000 bail, authorities said. Police commented Braun said she never intended to hurt anyone. The facility is 40 miles northeast of St. Louis.

In a separate fire incident, lightning is believed to be the cause of an attic fire at Senior Saints Home in Chattanooga, TN. Fourteen employees and 10 residents were evacuated, and there were no injuries, the Times Free Press reported.
