Los Angeles and San Diego are two of the best cities in which to receive nursing home care, according to HealthGrades’ latest annual list of best and worst cities for quality long-term care. HealthGrades is a private company that rates healthcare providers.

HealthGrades’ ranked 58 U.S. cities that have 20 or more nursing homes. The company calculated the number of facilities in the cities that had at least four actual harm violations based on health or complaint surveys in the last four years.

According to the company, the areas with the best nursing home care were Los Angeles; St. Petersburg, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Long Beach, CA; and San Diego. The five worst places were Detroit; Fort Worth, TX; Fort Wayne, IN; Houston; and Seattle.
