WOCN releases first mobile app

The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ has launched its first app, called the Evidence-Based Wound Care Guidelines and Fecal Ostomy Best Practice app. It is designed to provide up-to-date recommendations for patients with pressure ulcers, fecal ostomies, lower extremity arterial disease, lower extremity neuropathic disease, and lower extremity venous disease.

The quick reference guide allows the provider to quickly locate an image or information and then view details. The app can be used by anyone who purchases it, including nurses and physical therapists, said Phyllis Kupsick, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, CWOCN, President of the WOCN® Society.

“It truly represents the WOCN® Society’s continuing effort to investigate and develop new ways to assist both members of our organization and the industry in the delivery of expert patient care,” she said.

The app can be downloaded through the Apple iTunes App Store and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch devices.
