A Pittsburgh-based vendor is offering free access to its nursing home benchmarking engine for the next few months.

OnlyBoth announced that it is doing so as a way to celebrate Older Americans Month in May. Free access to the system will last until around mid-July, when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services releases updates to its nursing home compare data.

The company notes that 8 million Americans receive long-term care services each year, a number that is projected to reach 27 million by 2050. Its announcement is targeted toward consumers who are looking to select a nursing home. But the company notes that the tool — which takes public data from CMS and turns it into concise, easy-to-understand statements about how facilities are performing — is also useful for administrators aiming to line themselves up against the competition.
