States vary in willingness to pay for tech products

States are hardly aligned when it comes to reimbursing providers for technology-based products. An analysis by the Center for Aging Services Technologies (a LeadingAge subsidiary) found that 44 states compensate operators for Personal Emergency Response Systems. In addition, 16 states will cover medication management, while seven states reimburse for home telehealth/telemonitoring. Pennsylvania is the most generous state in this area. However, investigators found that New York, South Carolina and South Dakota are also relatively helpful.
