A $65 million nursing home project in Brooklyn, NY, earned community board approval last week. Oxford Nursing Home has proposed a 200-bed facility in Red Hook to replace its facility in Fort Greene.

The proposal had stalled since it required converting the area from industrial business to residential, according to Crain’s New York Business. Oxford owner Barry Braunstein has been trying to relocate the facility for a dozen years.

Oxford plans to open an urgent care clinic at the site, the newspaper reported. If approvals move forward, the facility would relocate to Red Hook by the end of 2017 or early 2018.
