Odor protection in undergarments

A new technology eliminates urine odor when added to absorbent undergarment fabrics, a firm has announced. Boston-based Salk Inc. and New York-based Lew Jan Textiles carry HaloShield®, which has traditionally been used in the production of reusable bed pads, but is now being deployed in washable briefs and panties. When a small amount of chlorine bleach is added, the HaloShield coating binds to it and kills 99.9% of odor-causing bacteria within 5 to 10 minutes, company officials said.
