History was madeyesterday when President Barack Obama was sworn in as our 44th president.Today, the real work begins. As part of an effort to bolster the nation’slagging economy, Obama plans to reform the way healthcare in America ismonitored, delivered and paid for. And he clearly expects technology to play acentral role in making these changes happen. Obama’s American Recovery andReinvestment Plan would set aside up to $20 billion for technology-drivenhealthcare changes. High tech and long-term care may not yet be synonymousterms. But clearly, they are likely to have a much closer relationship goingforward.
