Obama plans to link technology with long-term care
History was made yesterday when President Barack Obama was sworn in as our 44th president. Today, the real work begins. As part of an effort to bolster the nation's lagging economy, Obama plans to reform the way healthcare in America is monitored, delivered and paid for. And he clearly expects technology to play a central role in making these changes happen. Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan would set aside up to $20 billion for technology-driven healthcare changes. High tech and long-term care may not yet be synonymous terms. But clearly, they are likely to have a much closer relationship going forward.
