VoiceFriend LLC has announced that its notification solution is now Amazon Alexa-enabled, which will allow skilled nursing and senior living communities using VoiceFriend to communicate more effectively with their residents, families and staff through any Alexa-enabled device.

With VoiceFriend’s new Alexa feature, residents can access and listen to daily schedules and menus, learn about upcoming events and activities, and receive notices and appointment reminders through voice-activated commands. Family members also will benefit, as they can listen to the community information, appointments and alerts relating to their loved one.

In addition, administrators can easily communicate shift changes, call-outs and certification training information to staff members through their Alexa-enabled devices. This boost to the accessibility of VoiceFriend will encourage staffing cost-effectiveness, the company said in an announcement.

Communities already using VoiceFriend will receive information about the new Alexa ability in the weeks ahead.
