One of the leading providers of home-based care is continuing to expand with the recent acquisition of Iowa’s top homecare agency.

Chicago-based BrightStar Care — which provides private duty home care and medical staffing with more than 330 locations — says that it is acquiring HomeChoice Senior Care, out of Iowa. This continues BrightStar’s rapid expansion, with the company opening 15 new locations so far this year. It also has agreements to expand into Canada, rolling out 65 locations across the country in the next five years.

“We found the perfect partners in Iowa: respected, caring, dedicated people who share our passion for person-centered care at the highest professional standards,” Shelly Sun, founder and CEO of BrightStar Care, said in a press release. “This partnership puts BrightStar in three important cities: Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Des Moines, where we can combine the best of our business with the best of HomeChoice Senior Care’s model.”
