Healthcare spending on seniors continues to escalate, according to AHRQ study

A new report confirms what many providers already know: The amount of money being spent on healthcare for seniors is rising dramatically. In fact, the total rose by more than $100 billion between 1996 and 2006, according to a study from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In all, the U.S. spent an estimated $333 billion on healthcare for people 65 and over in 2006.
