GOJO Industries received the Summit of Sustainability Large Business Award from a group of organizations in Ohio.

 

GOJO, which makes Purell, was honored for its social, environmental and economic sustainability efforts. Accomplishments included donating unused hand hygiene products for disaster relief, and milestones reached for reducing water usage, solid waste generation and greenhouse gas emissions. The award was presented Oct. 24.

 

The founding members of the Summit of Sustainability are: City of Akron, County of Summit, Keep Akron Beautiful, the Greater Akron Chamber and the ReWorks.  Judges included Nicholas Zingale, M.D., faculty member, Cleveland State University; Stacy Willet, M.D., faculty member, University of Akron; Sam Rubens, administrator, Akron Regional Air Quality Management District; Robert Marshall, AIA, principal, Robert Marshall Architecture; and Mike Long, PE, network leader, Ohio By-Product Synergy Network.
