Friendship Village chooses Ascribe RX
Friendship Village has said the medication dispenser Ascribe RX allows residents to receive medication more quickly.
The automatic dispenser system also has an automatic review that evaluates if a resident has allergies. It dispenses the drug in a sealed, individual packet, the facility said.
Friendship Village is only the third continuing care retirement community in Arizona to introduce such technology, and Director of Nursing Paul Padilla said it has been a positive experience.
“Before now, we sometimes dealt with 12- or even 24-hour delays, depending on the off-site pharmacy,” he said. “Today, we've got 80 percent of the medications we need in the dispenser, and we'll have 92 to 95 percent within three months. The difference is noticeable and will certainly be a big benefit for residents.”
