The Food and DrugAdministration has cleared for marketing the first device made from a new formof natural rubber latex, guayule latex. The product, the Yulex PatientExamination Glove, is derived from the guayule bush. The product is expected tobenefit healthcare workers with latex allergies. Because there is no data onpeople¹s long-term experience with the Yulex glove, the product will at leasttemporarily carry a warning about the potential for allergic reactions.
