Researchers from University of Leeds, Durham University and GlaxoSmithKline are developing a way to print pharmaceutical ingredients directly onto tablets. Currently this option is available for less than 1% of all prescribed medications. By printing pills to order, caregivers may be able to create safer and faster-acting medicines. This new technology could be especially useful in the long-term care sector, where precise dosing remains a chronic challenge.
