Asbury Communities has added an eighth facility to its system through the affiliation of Tennessee-based Asbury Place.

“The similar faith-based heritage and charitable missions of our two organizations provides opportunities for us, together, to build upon our successes and reach more older adults in the communities we serve,” said Doug Leidig, Asbury Communities’ president and CEO.

Asbury Place opened in 1956 and operates communities in Maryville and Kingsport, TN. The two facilities provide services to nearly 600 seniors and employ more than 400 workers.  The organization has received accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, along with Asbury Communities.

With the new affiliation, Asbury Community will expand its system to offer services in four different states. Headquartered in Germantown, MD, the provider’s 3,000 employees serve more than 4,300 seniors.
