Some providers may literally be itching to replace their Blackberry smartphones. Cobalt and nickel  — two metals found in about a third of Blackberry phones  — can cause a variety of allergic reactions, a new study finds. These include redness, swelling, itching, eczema, blistering, skin lesions and occasional scarring. Investigators suggest at-risk users switch to an iPhone or Droid, as those two smartphones do not contain either metal. Full findings were recently presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology‘s annual meeting.
