AHIMA cites need for progress toward standardized EHRs

The American Health Information Management Association kicked off its annual show this week by demanding unified health information governance. "Unified data governance principles will help promote accuracy and consistency and reduce ambiguity," said Lynne Thomas Gordon, the group's CEO. She said her organization is prepared to work with the government, providers, health plans, quality organizations and vendors to establish standards that improve care documentation.
