Electronic health record provider Netsmart has acquired post-acute healthcare consulting firm Quality In Real Time to become the largest service provider in the post-acute community.

QIRT will become part of the McBee strategic consulting business unit to expand McBee’s OASIS, minimum data set coding and advisory consulting services for post-acute care and behavioral health providers. The acquisition builds on Netsmart’s suite of operational, financial and clinical services by leveraging additional QIRT offerings, such as MDS and uniform assessment system reviews.

“Netsmart and QIRT have a mutual dedication to quality of services and products,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “This commonality of values will further scale the Netsmart services offering to support and help post-acute agencies thrive. This partnership also brings together the top two OASIS and coding providers to serve the post-acute community.”

Netsmart also recently added a mobile screening solution designed to help organizations safely reopen as coronavirus restrictions ease. The COVID-19 mobile screening solution can be used as a safety measure for staff, clients and visitors. It surveys individuals regarding travel and exposure; existing health conditions; and  symptoms such as difficulty breathing, fever and cough.

The tool records results and prior testing in the Netsmart CarePathways analytics platform allowing visualization, trending and hot spot mapping. The screening solution also has the ability to integrate electronic care reporting to public health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if needed.
