Wyoming — The Joint Revenue Committee in November approved a Medicaid expansion bill, pushing it to the full Legislature for consideration.

The legislation allows the governor to direct the departments of health and insurance to explore options in Medicaid expansion. If expansion is “viable and fiscally advantageous,” then the governor can authorize the Health Department to begin the process of applying to the federal government, the Casper Star-Tribune reported.

Medicaid is a federal and state program that funds most of nursing home care throughout the United States.
