NEW YORK — A recent investigation found that nearly 75% of New York’s skilled nursing facilities have been rated as “below average” or “much below average” for their staffing by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Using CMS data, the investigation also revealed that on average, most of the city’s understaffed nursing homes have lower health rating and almost twice as many citations for health hazards when compared to well-staffed facilities.
