» Regional Health Properties in December transferred four skilled nursing facilities in Ohio to a new operator. The Atlanta-based real estate investment trust said the move was needed, given weak performance by the previous tenant and non-payment of rent. New agreements with MSTC Development include lower rental rates, which escalate based on occupancy. 

» National Health Investors, a Tennessee-based REIT, has financed a 144-bed luxury skilled nursing facility in Oak Creek, WI, for $25.35 million. Ignite Medical Resort Oak Creek will be operated by affiliates of Villa Healthcare and Ignite Medical Resorts. They’ve signed a 12-year lease to begin after construction wraps up. It includes two 10-year renewals and a 2% annual escalator.

» Diversicare Healthcare Services announced the sale of three skilled nursing facilities in Kentucky in early December. Those included a 60-bed center in Fulton, a 94-bed SNF in Glasgow and another 88-bed facility in Clinton, the Brentwood, TN, company said. The three properties fetched $18.7 million, with the proceeds used to pay off debt associated with the facilities.
