A program combining bingo with exercise has been recognized by the National Council on Aging as helping to reduce falls.

“Bingocize” was created by Western Kentucky University Associate Professor of Exercise Science Jason Grandall, Ph.D. The program has been approved for inclusion in the Evidence-Based Falls Prevention Program, making it eligible for funding under the Older Americans Act.

The program intersperses stretching and other exercise throughout a game of bingo. It has been adopted in more than 70 facilities across the United States, WKU radio reported.
