»Gento, formerly Nursing Without Walls, a startup providing staffing and care delivery management to skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies, has secured $5 million in Series A funding. Gento connects providers, clinicians and patients on demand through an app and has facilitated more than 75,000 patient visits, the company said.

»Care collaboration platform PatientPing launched adtnotifications.com, a website dedicated to information on the Conditions of Participation for the Centers  for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Interoperability and Patient Access rule. The proposed rule requires hospitals to share e-notifications with post-acute providers, such as nursing homes, and others upon a patient’s admission, discharge and transfer.

The company provides on-site, on-demand medical care for skilled nursing facilities covering a broad range of specialty disciplines. “Technology is too often used to replace human interactions,” said geriatrician David Chess, CEO and chief medical officer for TapestryCare. “We see things very differently.”
