The Poarch Band of Creek Indians has opened an assisted living facility and health clinic in Alabama.

The Lavan Martin Assisted Living Facility has four homes, courtyards, dining, a quilting room and a resident laundry. There are 24 one-bedroom apartments, and the complex serves elders who living nearby with a 100-seat dining area. Landscaping features include gardens and gathering areas with a fountain and fire pit. 

The tribe also opened the Buford L. Rolin Health Clinic, a two-story building that will provide health services to tribal members and employees.
