GEHRIMED, which has created a Stage-2 Certified EHR for long-term care practitioners, and American HealthTech announced a strategic partnership. This will allow a data exchange between a practitioner’s electronic health record through GEHRIMED and a facility’s EHR through American HealthTech.

This is GEHRIMED’s third partnership with a facility EHR vendor to increase interoperability and operations, the company said. Practitioner EHR and facility EHRs can often use separate systems that restrict data exchange.

The partnership will let members of virtual healthcare teams remain connected, executives said.

“Effective care coordination and use of evidence-based protocols is enhanced when all practitioners have access to comprehensive resident information,” says Teresa J. Chase, American HealthTech’s president. “Real-time patient data exchange allows our clients to remain connected and securely collaborate with their care team.”
