Garry Pezzano, MS/CCC-SLP, FNAP, has been appointed the new president and CEO of LeadingAge PA, the association announced March 28.
Pezzano served more than 10 years in executive roles within Genesis Healthcare and Genesis Rehabilitation Services, most recently as senior vice president of clinical practice.
He earned his executive master of business administration and a master of science in speech-language pathology from Rutgers University, as well as his bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology from the College of New Jersey.
Pezzano replaces Bob Bertolette, who stepped in as interim president and CEO in October 2021, when previous president and CEO Adam Marles left to become president and CEO of St. Louis, MO-based Lutheran Senior Service.
“While I have been involved with LeadingAge PA for several decades on the provider side, my experience the past six months has increased my appreciation of the value of membership,” Bertolette said. “I’m confident in Garry’s leadership and ability to make a positive impact for members dealing with the many challenges facing our industry. What a great way to end my career and become one of the many seniors knowing our interests are well represented.”
