Organizers are urging nominators and potential nominees to take advantage of an extra week to submit materials for the 2021 McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program. The extended deadline is now 11:59 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 13).

Submissions for honoring the best and the brightest women among your workforce and long-term care overall can be made here. Eligible nominees shall be in the provider, research or other affiliated non-vendor fields. (Full criteria and background here.)

Honorees will be chosen by an independent judging panel of industry experts. Winners will be announced in February and honored at a prestigious awards ceremony in May, which last year included top long-term and senior care leaders, as well as distinguished members of Congress.

McKnight’s also will celebrate individuals with online and print coverage in numerous ways. Past winners and the celebrations around past Women of Distinction events can be seen here.

Nomination categories are Rising Stars (for under 40 years of age or fewer than 15 years in the industry), Veteran VIPs (longtime industry leaders), Hall of Honor (top managers, owners and other leaders, generally executive VP or above). Editors will also announce a Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

Go here to learn more or access the basic nomination form. Judges will consider all materials submitted, which will cover work history as well as pertinent other activities.
