The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Tuesday will be hosting another highly anticipated national conference call on changes to prospective payment classifications. The call will discuss important aspects of the new Resource Utilization Group system (RUG-IV) and include a question-and-answer session from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern. Organizers say advance registration must be completed by 2 p.m. (Eastern) Monday.

CMS has held three previous calls recently on the RUG-IV payment changes, which were put into place Oct. 1 on an interim basis. Since then, providers have expressed frustration with the system; glitches ultimately forced regulators to take it off line for a few days.

Registration will take place until 2 p.m. Monday, or until spots are filled, whichever comes first, organizers said. To register for the call, click here and fill in the required data. Verify your time zone and click “Register.”

A transcript and MP3 audio file of the conference call also will be available at this CMS landing page shortly after the call.
