Providers are tuning up to kick off the 20th annual National Assisted Living Week, which runs Sept. 7-13. Assisted living communities across the country will hold parties and events celebrating how “The Magic of Music” enhances the lives of residents, staff and volunteers daily.

“‘The Magic of Music’ celebrates the role music plays in the daily lives of assisted living residents,” says David Kyllo, executive director of the National Center for Assisted Living, which founded the weeklong event in 1995. “Music provides comfort, joy, and in some cases helps residents recall memories experienced long ago. NCAL is honored to present this annual national celebration that highlights the bonds built between residents and staff who deliver care and services to America’s seniors.”
