The annual meeting of the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging will take place Sunday through Wednesday at the Los Angeles Convention Center South. With more than an estimated 6,000 attendees, presenters and exhibitors expected in attendance, it is traditionally the largest meeting of its kind in the United States each year.

Keynote speakers this year include moral and political philosopher Harvard professor Michael Sandel (1 p.m. Sunday), actor and activist Edward James Olmos (10 a.m. Monday), newswoman and daughter of a long-term care resident Paula Zahn (10 a.m. Tuesday) and members of the seniors band The Zimmers (10 a.m. Wednesday).

Dozens of educational sessions touching on long-term care hot topics will be offered, with continuing education credits available for qualifying professionals. Also, back for the second year will be AAHSA’s Idea House, an on-site demonstration residence that showcases newer technologies available in seniors housing and care.
