When Mother’s Day arrives, it also means the start of National Skilled Nursing Care Week®️ (NSNCW). The theme this year is “Together Through the Seasons.”

The observation runs from Sunday through the following Saturday (May 9-15). It is an opportunity to “honor the collaborative commitment of skilled nursing care facilities and their staff in providing compassionate care,” according to the American Health Care Association, which established the designation in 1967 as National Nursing Home Week.

“[D]espite the challenges of the pandemic, skilled care centers and their staff have shown an incredible and steadfast commitment to providing quality care and ensuring the safety of their residents,” AHCA noted on its NSNCW web page

Organizers encourage care centers to plan special events for staff, residents and families. Providers are also urged to share NSCNW activity ideas, photos, videos and messages on Facebook and Twitter using #NSNCW
