Attendees will hear from two of long-term care’s leading figures July 19 at the 17th McKnight’s Online Forum. Webinars will take place at 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET and CE credit will be available.

Sherrie Dornberger, the executive director of the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration of Long-Term Care, will be featured in the early session, “5 Strategies for successfully overcoming the healthcare staffing crisis.”

Speakers will explain why enticements such as hiring bonuses and recruiting nurses from foreign countries are not sustainable. Attendees will learn how providers can address the issues with a perspective that combines applied healthcare experience and modern workplace technology

Rick Matros, president and CEO of Sabra Health Care REIT, will be a featured speaker during the late session, “Indoor environmental quality and senior health.” Also featured will be Kevin A Mazurek, Ph.D., a research scientist in electrical engineering and neuroscience in the Well Living Lab, and an adjunct assistant professor in the Mayo Clinic’s Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering.

Indoor environments can significantly affect our health and well-being. This is especially true for older adults, and their caregivers. Collaborators of the WISE initiative (Wellness Innovation in Senior Environments) will discuss how improving indoor environmental quality can enhance senior living communities. They delve into the effects of indoor environmental elements such as indoor air quality, lighting and other design and operational factors on senior health and well-being.
