The American Medical Directors Association’s annual conference takes place Thursday through March 2 in Nashville. Billed as the “premier” medicine conference for post-acute and long-term care, the theme this year is “Creating Harmony in Long Term Care.”

The four-day program will include news about innovations in treatments for Alzheimer’s and diabetes, the use of cutting-edge technology to maximize care, best practices in teamwork and more.

Country singer Naomi Judd, a Hepatitis C survivor and former nurse, will deliver an address titled “Self-care for caregivers.” Best-selling author Peter J. Pronovost, MD, PhD, FCCM, will speak to “Taking quality to the next level,” while another best-selling author, Marty Makary, MD, will address “Modern medicine’s transparency revolution.”
