Authorities in Tennessee are on the lookout for a prison inmate who escaped while working at a nursing home laundry facility Sunday, officials said.

Standifer Place Nursing Home in Chattanooga contracts with Silverdale Correctional Facility to save money on laundry services, the administrator told a local news station. An eight-to-10 person crew works six or seven hour shifts, seven days a week, he said.

While fewer than 10% of nursing homes outsource laundry, some have found it an effective way to save money.

The missing inmate, Darrious Brown, 29, is not considered violent. He was serving a one-year term for theft, contempt of court and failure to appear charges. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and a white head covering. Residents and employees do not have any contact with the inmates, officials added.

Editor’s note: Responding to a tip on Wednesday, police found Brown hiding in the attic of a home. After being treated for an injury, he will be charged with escape, according to reports.
